The Brick Oven Bistro has been an important part of Boise's dining scene since its days housed on the corner of Fifth and Main streets. The Americana fare is always consistent: consistently good with consistent prices even in the light of the soaring cost of everything. One of the best sandwiches on the menu is Brick Oven's version of a Reuben. Served on warm bread of your choice (because not everyone likes rye), the Reuben Hamwich offers thick slabs of slow-roasted ham under a healthy heap of sauerkraut. Add a side of their daily soup--complete with a dollop of chunky mashed potatoes right in the middle--and you've got a homecooked meal without any of the cleanup.
