We make no claims that anyone at Boise Weekly is omniscient. Occasionally, something falls through the cracks as we try to fine tune the annual Best of Boise survey. Other times, we drop a category we don't think is important any more, only to face reader backlash. But we have to offer a hearty "thank you" to our observant readers who helped open our eyes to the world of questions we were missing out on. Surprisingly, many of the most popular suggestions were questions we had asked in the past, but which had fallen by the wayside over the years since Best of Boise debuted in 1994. Other proposed questions were a bit self-serving, but we can't blame you for trying. When it comes to the No. 1 suggestion, we were actually forced to smack ourselves on the backs of our heads. It's hard to believe, in a place like Boise, we managed to overlook the all-important world of beer for so long. Maybe it's like the old saying about not being able to see the forest for the trees--we couldn't see the beer question because our noses were buried too far into the foam of a nice, cold brew. Mea culpa. It won't happen again.
