Best Local Tattoo Artist and Studio

Darcy Nutt, Chalice Tattoo

Darcy has been making Boise more beautiful since 1990. Among her favorite compositions are traditional Japanese, black and grey portraits, stipple and Americana. Darcy also loves the challenge of "organic" and illustrative one-of-a-kind designs. "I enjoy doing tattoos of any size," she said, "As long as I may have artistic freedom with whatever I do."

2nd Place: Tony Adamson, A Mind's Eye Tattoo—After learning from masters of the craft, Tony has been tattooing for 15-plus years. Tony's joy in his work is in finding a balance where fine art meets quality and simplicity. "Good art needs good energy," he said.

3rd Place: Erik Payne, Inkvision—BW readers continue to point to Inkvision and owner Erik Payne as one of their favorites. Erik and his colleagues are proud that most of the tattoos at Inkvision are on the large side. "We're fortunate to have a lot of return clientele who understand what makes a good tattoo," he said.
