Best Local Nonprofit Organization

Women's and Children's Alliance

The WCA has been providing safe places for women for more than a century. The amazing folks at WCA operate safe shelters and transitional housing and offer counseling, case management, court advocacy, safety planning, financial literacy and two 24-hour hotlines, one for domestic abuse and another for rape crisis. They are indeed miracle workers.

2nd Place: Boise Bicycle Project—About to celebrate its 10th birthday, BBP is about much more than putting a bike in the hands of someone in need. It also advocates for a safer, more sustainable Boise, and does as much work building confidence in its workshop as it does rebuilding bicycles. You can always count on BBP to be on the frontline of community engagement.

3rd Place: Idaho Youth Ranch—Most of us know IYR through their many storefronts, where consumers can get incredible deals on housewares, furniture and clothing. But for 64 years, Idaho Youth Ranch has also provided solutions to some of life's toughest challenges by offering emergency shelters, residential care, family counseling and job training.
