Best Local Lunch

There are two reasons that the lunch line at Bleubird is always out the door: 1) the owners have ramped up demand by cleverly restricting the hours it's open, and 2) the sandwiches are out-of-this-world delicious, especially paired with a housemade soda. When it comes to squashing yummy things between two slices of bread, no one in Boise does it better.

2nd Place: The Boise Co-op—The Boise Co-op is probably the most well-rounded local grocery store you could walk into: Beyond fresh and packaged produce, it boasts an in-store deli that churns out regular grab-and-go items, and a hot bar loaded with dishes made from local ingredients. Does one-stop shopping get better than this?

3rd Place: Main Street Deli—Though this 2-year-old eatery is just a toddler on the Boise food scene, it's already making waves for its meaty sandwiches (we recommend the house-made hot pastrami) and fresh salads; either one makes a perfect lunch.
