Best Local Indian

The motto at Madhuban is "All happiness depends on a leisurely food," a maxim that's certainly cryptic enough to earn them authentic status. Beloved for its flavor-packed menu, generous portions and $9.99 lunch buffet, this State Street spot should be on your hit list if you're into classic Indian dishes and awe-inspiring variety. Madhuban is the perfect stop for both vegetarians and meat lovers—and if you can't decide what to order, start off with one of its dozen kinds of naan (hint: there isn't a bad choice).

2nd Place: Bombay Grill—Located in the heart of downtown Boise, Bombay grill serves up authentic Indian and Pakistani favorites. There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options that earn rave reviews, but it's the meat entrees—like chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and lamb vindaloo—that make Bombay Grill da bomb.

3rd Place: Taj Mahal—Taj Mahal offers visitors the true taste of a mother's cooking; everything here is family-made and served family-style. Although it may take a bit for the food to make it to your table, don't lose hope—it's worth the wait.
