Best Local Frozen Treat

Fanci Freez

This walk-up and drive-through diner has been a Boise favorite since it first opened its doors in 1947, and is famous for its milkshakes, cones and sundaes. The milkshakes are hand-spun (you can even order one with a sundae on top), the cones can be dipped in crushed Oreos, Nerds, Butterfingers or sprinkles and the Freez has even got fruit smoothies for health nuts who want in on the frozen treat action. This summer, Buzzfeed named Fanci Freez the best ice cream spot in Idaho—and BW readers couldn't agree more.

2nd Place: Goody's—You can practically taste the love and care that goes into the ice cream at Goody's, which is made in-store multiple times each week from the best ingredients money can buy. Not in the mood for a scoop? The shakes, ice cream sodas and frozen chocolate bananas are pretty fabulous too.

3rd Place: The STIL—Although it just opened this summer on Broad Street, The STIL (aka The Sweetest Things In Life) is already making waves, thanks to artisanal ice creams in Idaho-themed flavors, booze-infused scoops and ice cream flights pairing tastes of creamy goodness with sips of beer and wine.
