Berryhill Back Downtown
Just as we had finally trained ourselves to include Berryhill and Co.'s Broadway Avenue shopping center location into our fine dining rotations, we can forget it as of July 28. The closing of Tapas Estrella on 9th Street may have left a giant hole in many an appetite as far as foodies are concerned, but for Berryhill and Co., the empty restaurant space proved to be just the right fit for its relocation destination.
Dinner service begins in Berryhill and Co.'s new location at Plaza 121 on Friday, August 3, with the same signature dishes, but the addition of a full bar, a downtown sidewalk patio and a fourth-floor private events room will draw a whole new crowd. Stop by during First Thursday, August 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a tour of the new digs, wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres.

Beef. It's What's for Dinner.
Idaho Steakhouse opened the first week of July offering a meaty meal for both lunch and dinner. Harkening back to pre-foodie-fad days before everyone became a critic, Idaho Steakhouse is reminiscent of some of the valley's old-school top-notch eateries with a fine and simple meat-and-potatoes kind of menu. London broil, salmon, sirloin, country-fried steak and a list of sandwiches for the make up the lunch menu that's sure to put a smile on any carnivore's face. The slimmer dinner menu is just as heavy-hitting, although on the slightly more upscale side with Alaskan king crab legs, four cuts of steak, raspberry chicken and a Dijon-crusted pork loin.
And on the dessert menu, you won't find any foreign words easily mispronounced during a food-induced semi-comatose state. All the old favorites make an appearance—think cheesecake and key lime pie—as well as Idaho's own ice cream potato.

Basque Box Lunch
It slipped our minds, so we thought it might have slipped yours, too: The Basque Market serves sack lunches. Get your chorizo, solomo, idiazabal, jamon serrano, Spanish turkey, tuna, meatball and manchego ensalada mixta between two slices of bread with a choice of a side, and if you're not too calorie conscious, order dessert. We recommend the chocolate pudding.
