Phasers on stun: William Shatner (Star Trek) is coming to Boise this summer as part of the inaugural Wizard World Comic Con, set from Friday-Sunday, July 13-15, at the Boise Centre. Organizaers say Shatner will appear July 15 when he'll participate in a fan Q&A, sign autographs and pose for photos.

In addition to portraying the iconic Captain Kirk in the 1960's TV series and subsequent big-screen Star Trek franchise films, Shatner took home the Emmy and Golden Globe awards for portraying the eccentric Denny Crane on The Practice and Boston Legal. He has since authored 30 best-selling books and most recently hosted the celebrity interview show, Shatner's Raw Nerve.

Wizard World Comic Con promoters say they've also secured appearance from some other sci-fi personalities for their Boise event, including co-stars from the series Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Ticket prices are $39.95 for admission on July 13, $49.95 for admission on July 14 or July 15, and a three-day admission for $79.95. Up to two children, 10 and under, get in free when accompanied by a paid adult. VIP packages, which offer exclusive photo ops or some face-time with Shatner, run from $355 to $555.
