Atlanta Labor Day

When: Fri., Sept. 4, 6:30 p.m., Sat., Sept. 5, 5 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 6, 2 p.m. 2009

The Labor Day festivities in Atlanta, Idaho, run Sept. 4-6 with free music, food available for purchase and an opportunity for the working class to relax. The Friday Night Social features music by Bruce Alkire and local celebrities. Food options include barbecue pizza by the slice for $2 plus beer, wine and mixed drinks for purchase. Dinner and a dance on Saturday, Sept. 5 is with Bottom Line Rhythm and Blues and the Bruce Alkire Band. Dinner options include steak, ribs or chicken with all the fixings for $10-$12. Fill up and then bid in a live auction. The Sunday afternoon picnic is free to volunteers who helped at the event or $3.50 per plate. Prepare for family fun and games. Proceeds from the event benefit the Atlanta Water Association, a nonprofit organization, providing water and fire protection to the community of Atlanta.
