The inaugural Atlanta Blues at the School event over Labor Day weekend is a music festival and fundraiser for two nonprofits: the Friends of the Atlanta School House (a historic Atlanta landmark) and the Atlanta Water Association. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy music from headliner Bottom Line Rhythm and Blues and other great local musicians. A silent auction of donated items (2-6 p.m.); a live auction of antiques, tools and handicrafts by local craftsmen (6 p.m.); and dinner from 4:30-7 p.m., with barbecue pork or fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, corn on the cob, rolls and dessert ($10 per person). Tickets for a quilt raffle are $5, available at the School House Library and the Atlanta Club) and event T-shirts available for purchase ($10).
