Art vs. Freedom: A First Amendment Cabaret

When: Fri., May 19, 9 p.m. and Sat., May 20, 9 p.m. 2017

Art vs. Freedom: A First Amendment Cabaret was inspired by a recent real-life lawsuit in which the state of Idaho attempted to define what is and is not art. This vaudeville presentation is meant to be a cautionary tale of how quickly our civil liberties can be undermined and destroyed if we the people are not actively engaged in their protection. You'll enjoy the all-star lineup of Boise-based artists performing clowning, burlesque, puppetry, acrobatics and aerial acrobatics, drag, opera and belly dance, along with internationally renowned cabaret legend Armitage Shanks, “the Carny Preacher.”
