Art in the Park

Julia Davis Park, Sept. 7-8

by

The Boise Art Museum has long billed its late-summer festival, Art in the Park, as "one of the premiere cultural events in the Northwest"—and it isn't wrong. For three days each September, Julia Davis Park in downtown Boise fills with row upon row of booths, showcasing art that runs the gamut from photography and sculpture to welding and woodworking. It's worth going simply to soak in the colors and smells: the wine-red handmade scarves, the scents of roasted nuts and oil paints, the rich browns and golds of desert photographs the ever-present glitter of jewelry on display. Not to mention, it's a last shot at fair food and a chance to meet and buy from more than 200 artists.
