Saying his call for an investigation into two Idaho legislators was an "informal" request, Senate Pro Tempore Brent Hill (R-Rexburg) told the Associated Press Aug. 18 that he wants the Legislative Services Office to look into the travel expenses of Rep. Christy Perry (R-Nampa) and Sen. Jim Guthrie (R-Inkom).

The LSO review comes in the wake of allegations of an extramarital affair between the two lawmakers. Perry provided a statement to KTVB Thursday evening, stating she had experienced a "profound crisis" two years ago and "made a terrible mistake for which I am truly sorry for." Perry said she hadn't received any travel reimbursements from October 2013 through this month, except for her daily commuting mileage during legislative sessions.

The AP reports that Guthrie has not confirmed any of the allegations.

Hill said no request has been made for a formal ethics investigation.
