Idaho is home to a number of treasures. Our nickname, the Gem State, may be due to the large number of precious and semi-precious rocks nestled in the strata, but many of our brightest (and most coveted) jewels are actually our people.
The Annual Braun Bros. reunion is a favorite summer event, something the fans and the bands look forward to each year. This year promises to be an especially exciting event with a lineup to rival just about any music festival from Austin to Arco: the Braun Bros., Reckless Kelly, Micky and the Motorcars, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Kevin Welch, Dale Watson and Robert Earl Keen (you know, that guy in the Todd Snider song).
On Thursday night, the highly anticipated, free downtown Challis street dance kicks the event off at 8 p.m. with music from Dale Watson and Micky and the Motorcars.
On Friday, eat at the Texas barbecue featuring pulled pork, barbecue chicken and steak fajitas, and then dance it off with music on the Challis Community Stage by Matt and Lanny Braun, Kathleen Braun, Kevin and Dustin Welch, Dale Watson and Reckless Canadian Motorcar—Reckless Kelly, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Micky and the Motorcars all rockin' out together for a 90-minute jam. Gates open at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, Billy Braun, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Micky and the Motorcars, the Braun Family and Reckless Kelly to be followed by the oh-so-popular after-party jam at the Y-Inn.
