The expansion to Boise is part of a push into new territory for Prime Now, which as of today handles delivery in 63 cities and curbside grocery pickup in 14. In a press release, Amazon promised that Boise deliveries, ordered online through Prime Now, will arrive in less than an hour and reach a wide area.
“We are excited to bring super-fast Prime Now delivery to Boise for the first time. Our goal is to cover as many Prime customers as possible with grocery delivery from Whole Foods Market,” Tanvi Patel, Prime Now's head of business development, wrote in a press release. “Today we’re excited to reach customers past Hidden Springs in the north, to Meridian and past the Boise Airport in the south, and from Nampa in the west past the State Capital Building in the east.”
Ordering for pickup is easy, too—customers can punch their orders into the Prime Now app and choose the pickup option to have their virtual carts ready in as little as 30 minutes (with an extra $4.99 fee) or an hour (free on orders of $35 or more). "Prime Now shoppers" then jog orders over to customers who pull in to Whole Foods in designated parking spots.
The curbside service is available every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., with delivery offered even later, until 10 p.m. daily.
