- Jessica Sulikowski and Will von Tagen star in Almosting It
Boise band Edmond Dantes was late hitting the stage at the Egyptian Theatre the evening of June 25. First off, the lines to purchase tickets to the 6:30 p.m. showing of Almosting It, for which Edmond Dantes provided the soundtrack, were winding around the block, bottlenecking at the theater's entrance. Second, singer Andrew Stensaas said he was waiting for someone to bring him a collared shirt.

Almosting It itself is a clever romantic comedy about an artsy young man who wrestles with love and authenticity. Directed, written, produced and starring Boise filmmaker Will von Tagen, it treats growing up like learning to see the forest through the proverbial trees. The dialogue is taut and its characters crackle. And for these reasons and more, it received a standing ovation from the audience when it concluded.

According to von Tagen, the film is set to open on more than 100 screens in September, which is also when he said he expects to begin working on what could become his second film. For him, Almosting It is a jumping-off point.
"It allows myself and the talented people up here with me to continue to make films," he told the audience during a question-and-answer period following the screening.
