Snow may not fall for a while, but that's not stopping the Egyptian Theatre from kicking off ski-film season. First up, Teton Gravity Research premieres Almost Ablaze--last year's TGR film had the theater at capacity--and there's no better way to get stoked and brush up on the latest lingo than with TGR. For example, this season's word is gripped: "Dude, l want to shred this gnar but I'm super gripped. Help me get 100 percent."
Want something with a little more depth? Hop over to the Flicks, to see a special screening of Return of the River. Hosted by the Idaho section of the American Water Resources Association, the film covers the largest dam removal project in the nation and restoration of the Elwha River in Washington.
Since you can't be two places at once, make your choice carefully. No matter which screening you go to, though, you will no doubt be absorbed in the power of nature.
