Alley Repertory Theater has dubbed its upcoming season The Age of Women, writing, "We have always known that the future is female. For our 2017-18 series, the future is now." ART will kick off the future with the Bryna Turner play Bull In a China Shop, an uproarious historical comedy about a couple of badass suffragettes whose lives spin out for years as they battle for women's rights and education. The show will run two consecutive weekends (starting with a "pay what you want" preview performance) before giving way to The Golden Girls Christmas Extravaganza and Women of a Certain Age. ART's mission this season is to portray "the strong, unconventional and subtle beauty of women," is as powerful as, well, a bull in a china shop.
