Sun Valley is wrapping up its annual dance with the stars—the stars being the titans and personalities who control much of the world's media, entertainment and financial purse strings. The 33rd annual Allen and Company Sun Valley conference, filled most of the Sun Valley Resort this week and attracting the likes of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, CBS CEO Les Moonves and Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger.
Hollywood is also always well represented at the conference. Among this year's attendees were famed film producer Harvey Weinstein, DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara and powerful media mogul Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp.
The political world was impressively represented, as well. Joining the tech and entertainment tycoons were Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; Argentinian President Mauricio Macri; Michael Bloomberg, the founder of Bloomberg Media and former three-term mayor of NYC; and Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, a popular Hillary Clinton vice-president pick .
It's rare to see one of the Allen and Company Sun Valley Conference guests outside of the conference, but if one of them does head into town, the press even—even those affiliated with renowned business journals—are kept at a healthy distance
