Alexander McCall Smith

The internationally acclaimed author appears as the last guest speaker for The Cabin's 2009 Readings and Conversations. McCall Smith, known for his popular No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series which was made into a movie directed by Anthony Minghella, has written more than 60 books. His writing covers a variety of subjects including medical law, criminal law, philosophy, short story collections and children's books. He also plays wind instruments in an amateur orchestra he co-founded called the Really Terrible Orchestra.
