low-fi May tour and UW Street Fair/ Seattle,WA

by

We had a bit of a late start to our tour 1300 mile weekend swoop around the NW last Friday evening. Our new stickers had been ordered and were to be delivered Friday.. apparently UPS has until 7pm to deliver and we needed to leave town by 5pm to get to our first gig at the Salmon River Brewery in McCall. Josh was on the horn all day with UPS trying to track these babies down... customer service didn't care too much about our dilemma but Josh would not be denied! He flagged down a random UPS truck, got the name and number of the driver with our package, got in touch with him around 4:50pm, left Mike and I to continue packing equipment and took off to intercept! He got back at about 5:20pm with stickers in hand and we were on our way, phewwwwwww!!

We set up inside the Salmon River Brewery and did 3 acoustic sets for a great crowd! The staff was awesome!! We ate like kings and enjoyed their Udaho Gold!

Our friends Wren and Bruce put us up for the night. Super nice folks! They are both artists and have a really cool place out in the wilderness.

Saturday we headed North to Spokane for a stop at Neato Burrito/ The Baby Bar in Spokane, WA. We pulled into town at about 6:30pm. We had no idea that the Spokane Lilac festival was going on and downtown Spokane would be a labyrinth of people, police and a huge and very long parade!

Luckily it wasn't too difficult to get to our destination and we had a good show. The burritos were huge and delicious!!

We played Neato Burrito from 10pm till midnight loaded up and hit the road to Seattle at about 12:30am. Our next gig was at the University District Street Fair in Seattle and we got the opening time slot at 12 noon on Sunday. The 4 and half hour overnight drive seemed like our best option... We rolled into Seattle at about 5am. Our friends Jen and Drew were nice enough to let us get a 4 hour power nap in at their place before our set. Madness, but so worth it!! We had a great response from the crowd and sold a bunch of cds!! This was our third year in a row playing the UW Street Fair and even though the weather man said watch out for rain the weather was perfect!

Right after our set we loaded up again and began the 8 hour journey back home to Boise... and that's how we roll through the Pacific NW! By the way we came back a little tiny bit in the black so we'll chalk this one up as a success!!
