As GlobalPost's Don Duncan reports today, some 7,000 Bhutanese refugees have already left the camps in Nepal that they have called home for 17 years to come to the United States for resettlement. More than 400 of these refugees have come to Boise.
But many of the ethnic Nepalis who fled their homes in Bhutan still hope to return, and a small resistance movement is developing in the refugee camps and along the Indian border. Duncan visited with some of the fighters to produce this report.
Meanwhile, political changes within Bhutan suggest an end the decades-old persecution of the Hindu minority there.
