Ballet Idaho frequently fills its company roster with dancers from across the country but this year, it will add a hometown dancer, in addition to recruiting three out-of-towners.
Elizabeth Keller was born in Dubai, UAE, and trained at the Royal Academy of Dance in London and the Ballet Center of Houston in Houston, Texas, and was with the Miami City Ballet before joining Trey McIntyre Project. This will be her first season with Ballet Idaho, the same for Peter Hershey, Justin Hughes and Ethan Schweitzer-Gaslin.
Hershey's stage experience includes roles in Dennis Nahat's Blue Suede Shoes
and The Nutcracker
, all of which were performed with Ballet San Jose, where he danced for 12 seasons. He was also a member of Company C Contemporary Ballet.
Schweitzer-Gaslin has choreography experience at workshops like Boston Ballet and Keigwin+Company, as well as Amherst Regional High School, Boston Ballet School, Houston Ballet II and Oregon Ballet Theatre.
Hughes is a veteran of Cincinnati Ballet and studied with the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet, the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre and The Rock School for Dance Education.
