Need Something To Do Thursday?

Prison is often thought of as a place where people and hope go to die. When laws are violated, there are consequences. But the point of doing time is to rehabilitate the offender if possible. Part of that process is providing classes to the incarcerated so they can develop skills and channel energy into constructive activities.

Doran Larson, a professor from Hamilton College, will be at the Lookout Room in the Boise State Student Union building to talk about his time at Attica Prison teaching creative writing. If he has anything to say about it, you'll be on the receiving end of some incredible pen pal letters.

6 p.m. FREE. Boise State University Student Union Building, Lookout Room, 1910 University Drive, Boise, 208-426-2468, boisestate.edu.
