Poetry can be intimidating to the uninitiated. You may imagine a surly individual in the corner clutching a cigarette holder while adjusting their bifocals with the other hand. Or maybe not. Either way, you should get acquainted with the Boise poetry scene.
Boise State University Professor Martin Corliss-Smith and Idaho Writer-in-Residence Diane Raptosh will read selected works at the Ghosts and Projectors poetry reading series at Hyde Park Books. The series is Boise-based and curated by poet Megan Williams.
7 p.m. $2. Hyde Park Books, 1507 N. 13th St., Boise, 208-429-8220, ghostsandprojectors.com.
