Woodland Empire Ale Craft
Woodland Empire Ale Craft throws open its doors Tuesday, Jan. 14.
will officially open its doors to the public tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 3-10 p.m. at 1114 W. Front St.
got to take a sneak peak tour of the expansive brewery yesterday afternoon, while owners Keely and Rob Landerman put the final touches on Woodland’s butter yellow tasting room. The building, which was originally a blacksmith’s shop when it was built in 1905, has housed a number of other tenants including the Yanke Machine Shop.
Tonight’s soft opening party will feature wood-fired pizza from Free Range Pizza and four of Woodland’s brews on tap:
-Rabbit Fighter ESB: Traditional, English-style extra special bitter. 5.3 percent ABV, 35 IBU.
-In the Morning Mild: Dark, English-style mild ale made with cold-brewed DOMA Chronic coffee. 3.4 percent ABV, 15 IBU.
-Gold Days: Belgian-inspired tripel. 9 percent ABV, 17 IBU.
-City of Trees: Hoppy Idaho pale ale. 6.2 percent ABV, 70 IBU.
The brewery also has two pint nights scheduled this week. The first one takes place Thursday, Jan. 16 at Bittercreek Ale House. Starting at 11 a.m. and continuing all day, patrons can score four, five-ounce pours of Woodland’s brews for $4. The brewers will also be available to talk shop beginning at 6 p.m.
The second event takes place Friday, Jan. 17 from 5-8 p.m. at Bier:Thirty, where the Woodland crew will also be on-hand to chat about their brews.
The Woodland Empire tasting room will be open Tuesdays-Thursdays, 3-10 p.m.; Fridays, 3-11 p.m.; Saturdays, Noon-11 p.m.; Sundays, Noon-9 p.m. and closed Mondays.
