The Fourth of July is just around the corner and that means one thing: BW's annual Coldest Beer issue is about to hits stands, which in turn means that our annual Bars and Stripes ally cat race is gearing up, too.
For the eighth year, BW will send sweaty bike riders racing across Boise to complete random tasks, drink a few beers and compete for never ending glory—or at least cash prizes for the top three finishers in the men's and women's categories.
This year, the race hits the streets on Saturday, July 6. Registration begins at 2 p.m. at Boise Weekly HQ (523 Broad St., Boise) and the race begins promptly at 3:15 p.m. Don't forget to be prompt—registration is limited to the first 125 bikers and the $12 entry fee includes a T-shirt.
Since the race involves many a bar, all riders must be age 21 or older and have a valid ID with them during the ride.
Even if you're not one of the fastest racers, that's no reason no to celebrate—hell, even if you're not a racer at all, come out and celebrate with us. This year the final party will be held at Highlands Hollow Brewhouse (2455 Harrison Hollow Blvd., Boise) and everyone is invited to come out and hoist a beer—or two.
