Need Something To Do Tuesday?

Historical secrets are some of the most entertaining kinds. All secrets lend themselves to riveting storytelling, but historical ones have the added quality of being immersive: Uncovering a mystery from, say, 19th century Idaho can inspire us to imagine what it was like to keep something hidden in a time when there were no cars or telephones—just word of mouth.

One such closely guarded 19th century Idaho secret was kept by one "Little" Jo Monahan, a Canyon County rancher. Today at 3 p.m. at Heatherwood Retirement Community, Michelle Gluch will tell the story of Little Jo and reveal the secret that drove this pioneering spirit to Idaho in the first place.
