If you've seen the film Hotel Rwanda, you're familiar with the events that took place in that African nation. You might also be aware that for a long time, the atrocities that took place—collectively called the Rwandan Genocide—were under-reported in the West.
While the violence has subsided, the process of rebuilding the country, its communities and its most basic element—the family—continue. This evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Boise State University Student Union, filmmaker Patrick Mureithi introduces his documentary, Icizere: Hope, which follows Rwandans seeking reconciliation in the wake of genocide. A question and answer session will follow the free event.
