Need Something To Do Sunday?

Jazz has been described as the first American art form, and if you burrow deep enough into the music that has been produced after the so-called Jazz Age, you can find echoes of jazz's irrepressible vitality.

Today, the Boise Jazz Society has a full afternoon of jazz planned with The Loston Harris Trio.

It all starts at 4 p.m. at the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy, which hosts the Boise Community Jazz Symposium, where audiences can meet the musicians and listen to some of the best jazz in town.

From 6:15-6:50 p.m., the Boise State University Jazz Combo performs pre-concert music, which is also free. And then at 7 p.m., $20-$40 buys you admission to the real deal—the Boise Jazz Society Concert.
