Need Something To Do Friday?

Once upon a time, the Treasure Valley was scoured out by a massive flood that swept across the Snake River plain, a flood that left behind massive boulders in the middle of the desert. Boise's geology is what gives it its beauty, and the more people know about Boise's geology, the more they can appreciate its beauty.

The Boise State GeoClub has made a mission of just that: studying and appreciating geology, and, in turn, appreciating Boise's natural beauty.

The GeoClub holds fundraisers to raise (beyond funds) awareness of its mission and the importance of geology in our everyday lives. The good news is that the GeoClub makes it easy to support allied efforts.

Enter the On the Rocks Fundraiser, which promises performances by Last King Outlaw, Rogue Gallery, Sunnyvale Stringband, Fires in France and more, starting today at 6 p.m. at the Linen Building. Tickets are $10.

Proceeds from the event go to the Foothills Learning Center, which provides education about the Boise Foothills and the surrounding environment.
