There are a select number of movies in any given year that are worth the full price of admission, and given that it can cost $9 (or higher) for a single adult, frugal-minded filmgoers must choose wisely where to spend that hard-earned cash.
Beginning this week, we'll be making some recommendations on major motion pictures that have made their way to Boise's discount theaters, which traditionally charge $3 admission and $1 on Tuesdays.
Maybe you missed these films when they were at the major cineplexes, or maybe you thought the price was too high. Either way, here's a list of primo movies well worth the bargain this weekend:
Anna Karenina—Northgate Reel Theatre at noon, 4:15 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.; Country Club Reel Theatre, 2:15 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.
Flight—Northgate Reel Theatre at 2:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.; Overland Park Cinemas at 8:15 p.m.; Country Club Reel Theatre at 4:15 p.m. and 9:10 p.m.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower—Northgate Reel Theatre at 12:20 p.m., 2:35 p.m. and 9:35 p.m.; Country Club Reel Theatre at noon, 2:10 p.m., 7:05 p.m., with a midnight show today, Jan. 11.
