It starts, oddly enough, in the back of the throat and moves its way up the tongue, finally coming to an unpleasant rest on the lips. No, it's not the exhausted words, "Fiscal Cliff." It's thirst.
Fortunately, there's the paradox of beer. Cold on the tongue, it's warm in the belly, red in the nose and a bit of thunder in your pocket—and not at all reminiscent of the ineptitude of Congress.
Today's the day Payette Brewing is hosting Kegs4Kause. Every so often, the folks at Payette give half the proceeds of that day's beer sales to a local charity. In this case, that charity is the Ben Towne Foundation, which seeks a pediatric cancer cure.
So put some warm in your belly and thaw the cockles of your heart, and down some suds for a good cause.
