Boise movie-goers who were looking forward to seeing Silver Linings Playbook—a comedy that mashes up ballroom dancing, professional football and schizophrenia—will have to wait a little longer.
The film, which has been reaping some pretty good praise from critics (including in the current issue of Boise Weekly) was originally slated to open this week at The Flicks in Boise. But folks at The Flicks said the film's distributors pulled Silver Lining Playbook from as many as 3,000 theaters nationwide at the last minute, while continuing to play the film in large markets like New York and Los Angeles to create more pent-up demand.
When the movie opens in wide release (and you definitely want to see this one), The Flicks will be showing the film, though no Boise release date has been secured yet. Staff at The Flicks told BW that they're still hoping to screen Silver Linings Playbook before the Christmas and New Year holidays.
