Need Something To Do Monday?



Mondays are typically regarded as the worst day of the week. It's the end of weekend debauchery, possibly tinged with a hangover and lack of sleep as a result of said debauchery, and the start of five days of work.

But today, you can shake off your case of the Mondays with a little exercise and social interaction, while learning how to keep your heart healthy.

Meet Me Monday is a weekly get-together of runners and walkers who convene at the Pioneer Building at Sixth and Main streets and then stroll for 1, 2 or 3.2 miles at whatever pace they like. All are welcome—kids, dogs, running junkies and novices, as well as those who prefer a leisurely stroll. Raffles and prize drawings are held back at the building at 6:45 p.m., and those who attend frequently earn prizes for repeat visits. Check-in begins at 5:15 p.m.

In addition to the regular Meet Me Monday schedule, the group will present Walk With a Doc today. Beth Malasky, a cardiologist with Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Heart Care and medical director of Saint Alphonsus Women's Heart Care, will walk and talk at 5:45 p.m.
