The government has never acknowledged the existence of aliens. But it has now officially acknowledged its own plans to build flying saucers in the 1950s.
In late September, The National Archives published diagrams and mockups of the venture, called Project 1794, under the title, "How to Build a Flying Saucer."
From the National Archives blog:
The Air Force had contracted the work out to a Canadian company, Avro Aircraft Limited in Ontario, to construct the disk-shaped craft. According to the same report [in which the photos were discovered], it was designed to be a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) plane designed to reach a top speed of Mach 4, with a ceiling of over 100,000 feet, and a range of over 1,000 nautical miles.
This could fall in line with some of the allegations made in Area 51 by investigative reporter Annie Jacobsen that asserted the bodies supposedly found at the infamous Roswell crash were not aliens, but scientifically deformed human pilots. Or not.
