Fridays feeling a little low-brow lately? Trade a night of cheap beer and the inevitable next-day headache for a Friday full of poetry.
Boise State's Master of Fine Arts Reading Series continues tonight with poet and Seoul, South Korea, native Myung Mi Kim. After coming to the United States as a child, she earned degrees from Oberlin College, Johns Hopkins University and the University of Iowa. Under Flag, her 1991 collection of poems, won the Multicultural Publishers Exchange Award of Merit. She has also published five more collections—The Bounty, Dura, Commons, River Antes and Penury.
You can read a sample of her work here.
Myung Mi Kim will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. in the Boise State Student Union Building's Farnsworth Room. Meaning you can enjoy her avant-garde work and still have plenty of time to get silly on a Friday night.
As with all MFA Reading Series installments, the event is FREE and open to the public. Check out the lineup of future readers here.
