Everyone wants to go to a party that rocks. Usually, that entails killer cocktails, a bevy of hotties and tunes that make you want to want to dance like no one is watching.
Well, today you can go to a rockin' party. In the afternoon. With your kids. The Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology will host its annual Rock Party from noon-4:30 p.m., and make those geological formations that annoyingly get stuck in shoes much more interesting.
The day's events will feature activities for children that will teach about mining, archeology and geology. There will also be hillside geology hikes, mineral identification activities, gold panning, mining history lessons and more.
Vendors and food purveyors will set up shop and sell their wares, and the gift shop will be open, as well. For pictures of last year's event and more info about the museum, visit its Facebook page.
Admission to the Rock Party costs $4, $3 for seniors, $2 for children ages 6-14 and is FREE for children ages 5 and younger.
