Need Something To Do Sunday?

by

Normally, the blues are reserved for Mondays. But today, you can revel in some blues that won't leave you feeling the way you do about 2 p.m. back at your desk after the weekend.

The Boise Blues Society is holding its 20th annual Sunday Blues picnic today in Julia Davis Park near the tennis courts from noon to 6 p.m. Music begins at 1 p.m. and the lineup will include the Hoochie Coochie Men, Blues Brothers Rock 'n Soul Revue, Hillfolk Noir and Next In Line.

Boise Blues Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that educates people of all ages about blues and promotes it as an art form. You can find some of its members playing regularly at spots around the Treasure Valley.

Enjoying the sweet bluesy sounds in the summer sun today won't cost you a dime—just two cans of food for the Idaho Foodbank. So save your dough for the food, beverages and crafts that will be available for purchase at the event. All ages are welcome. For more info about the Boise Blues Society, click here.
