OK Boise, we get it. You like bicycles. A lot. Enough to follow up Boise Bike Week with two more weeks of two-wheeled fun. The Pedal 4 the People festival—which kicked off June 9—is in full swing and will feature two events tonight.
At 7 p.m., bicycle duos can partake in the Tuesday Tandem Rally. Pairs meet at Parrilla Grill in Hyde Park and then head out for a leisurely ride around downtown Boise, stopping at spots offering two-for-one drinks along the way, because it's so much easier to ride a bike with another person after a little boozing. The ride finishes up back in Hyde Park.
Don't have a plus-one? Bike seat only big enough for you? Tonight's other P4theP allows solo riders to have some fun, too. As long as you can stay awake. The New Moon Midnight Riders event will occur at 11:45 p.m. Riders meet up at Bar Gernika, and then ride around the Idaho Statehouse, up Americana Boulevard, stop for a photo op and then take more pics at the Boise Train Depot. Lights are a necessity. Coffee is encouraged. Capes are optional. But really, if you have the opportunity to rock a cape sans judgment, why wouldn't you?
There are plenty more ways to celebrate your love for spokes and handlebars before P4theP finishes up with a big ol' party in the parking lot of 13th Street Pub and Grill Saturday, June 23. Check out Boise Bicycle Project's website for a full calendar.
