More than 100 women cyclists are making their way up another painful 1-mile climb into the hills of Canyon County this afternoon, as they look for an all-important advantage before heading down into Nampa for the finish of today's 77-mile Exergy Tour competition.
Germany's Trixi Worrack is holding a narrow lead over the pack. Worrack, 31, is a veteran and current silver medalist in the World Championships. She rides for Team Specialized-Lululemon.
American Lauren Hall is close on Worrack's pedals, following by about 12 seconds.
Not much more than 90 seconds separate all of the riders. The ladies are traveling approximately 24 mph and have, so far, climbed more than 1,700 feet.
