Free Treefort Shows at Record Exchange and Boise Rock School

At $79, Treefort Music Fest wristbands may be a steal compared to other festivals. But that's still a lot of black T-shirts and Ramen noodles.

Luckily, a couple of FREE Treefort options have been announced for the cash-strapped and those with strapped-in toddlers.

Boise Rock School will be hosting the Freefort series, in which bands from the festival will stop by and jam out in BRS' open garage all day on Saturday, March 24. Check out a schedule here.

But the big insider scoop is that The Record Exchange will host a series of secret in-store performances that do not require a wristband. The only catch is you gotta keep an eye on the RX Facebook page to find out who is playing and when.

The first show has already been announced. Portland, Ore., folk-pop outfit The Ascetic Junkies will swing by the Record Exchange for a full set at 4:30 p.m. today before hitting up Pengilly's for a second set later this evening.

Another secret show has been confirmed for Friday, March 23, at 6 p.m., but so far the RX is mum on who will be playing. Stay tuned to boiseweekly.com for more info.
