General Manager Mike Shirley confirmed to BW that the resort will open the front side of the mountain from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday for day skiing only. Day passes will cost $30 for adults, and Shirley said Bogus will honor any Jackson's Ski For Less coupons that skiers may have.
Chairs 1, 2, 4 and 7 will be up and running, along with one magic carpet. The J.R. Simplot Lodge will be fully open, while the Pioneer Lodge will open for locker access only. The Nordic Center will be open as well.
While night skiing isn't in the equation just yet, Shirley said crews will open more of the mountain as snow levels allow. He expects the resort to be open for skiing daily as long as it keeps snowing, something that looks like a strong possibility at this point.
Bogus had collected more than 9 inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon, giving it the dumping it needed to get things open. Forecasts call for continued snow in the mountains for the better part of the next week.
