What's that? You don't know what to do for New Year's Eve tonight? You obviously didn't pick up a copy of Boise Weekly, because we broke it down for you in the Picks section. Tisk, tisk. But don't worry—you can read all about it here. And if you need even more ideas about what to do tonight, here are two semi-low-key, music-centric events that would also be great ways to ring in 2012:
Head to Eastside Tavern for Almost Famous Karaoke starting at 9 p.m. You can avoid the mess of downtown drunkards and packed restaurants, smoke that last cigarette before it's banned in bars, show off your shuffleboard skills and spend the first minutes of 2012 crooning your favorite Sinatra song.
Or head over to Pengillys to catch the Jeremiah James Gang at 8:45 p.m. The honky outlaw country band promises a "rollicking, foot-stompin' good time" on its Facebook page, and that sounds like a pretty awesome way to say hello to a new year.
