This First Thursday, Susan Carmichael and the Gypsy Gallery will show that Idaho really isn't a world away from Europe and Africa. Carmichael's travel photography depicts scenes from our beloved Idaho, but also more exotic climes—think France, Italy, Ireland, Russia and adventures in Morocco and Mongolia. You can experience the journey vicariously through Carmichael's travels to places close to home and far away.
Carmichael's photographs will also be available for 20 percent off the purchase price as part of the First Thursday reception, which runs from 4-9 p.m. Prices range from $15 to $125 for matted and framed work. The reception will include holiday snacks and music by Gayle Chapman from 6:30-8:30 p.m., as well as a silent auction that benefits the Idaho Humane Society.
Since it first emerged more than 10 years ago, Gypsy Gallery has set up in various locations throughout Boise, and held a rotating booth at the Saturday Market. Today, Gypsy Gallery will be located at 1005 W. Main St., practically next door to Art Source Gallery.
Tonight's featured artists include Zella Bardsley, Pam McKnight, Kevin Flynn, Cherry Woodbury, Jenifer Gilliland, Kristy Albrecht, Bonnie Peacher, David Day, Michael Luque, Emmy Lou Rogers, Betty Rodgers and Jerry Hendershot, as well as Carmichael.
