People are creatures of habit. They don't like their calendar boats rocked. Art happens on First Thursdays and casual dress is reserved for Fridays. Step out of line, and people will look at you as if you dared to speak like a pirate on any day other than International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept. 19). The impudence of some scalawags.
Point is, it's getting perilously close to Halloween, meaning that even though the paranormal is a year-round thing, this is the one month people will pay attention to it.
So today, why not jump on the bandwagon and learn about local hauntings?
Swing by the Library at Hillcrest this evening and attend a presentation from the local chapter of International Paranormal Reporting Group, who seek to document that which goes bump in the night with double-blind scientific investigations. They'll be discussing local hauntings and giving attendees the opportunity to share their own close encounters.
The presentation starts at 7 p.m. and is FREE.
