Bogus Basin Installs New High-Speed Lift Using Helicopter

Bogus Basin this weekend began the process of installing a new high-speed chair lift to replace the Superior Chair. To move the pieces of the lift over the terrain, they had to airlift them in by helicopter, where work crews waited to install them.

The operation took several hours and the work of nearly two dozen people to pull off.

Even more gawked from the ground.

Bogus Basin spokesperson Gretchen Anderson estimates that crews will be load-testing the new lift by November, meaning that it should be up and running in time for this ski season, cutting ride-times for that chair down to 4-5 minutes.
