Getting a little bored with Farmville?
Tea Party Zombies Must Die is a new
waste of time entertainment outlet that will let you channel your political ire.
This controversial online-only first-person shooter game from Starving Eyes Advergaming equips players with an "arsenal of weapons” including a crowbar, various guns and even a machete for wreaking havoc on Tea Party zombies like Fox News Newt Gingrich Zombie, Sarah Palin Zombie and Express Racist Views Anonymously On The Internet Modern Klan Zombie.
The landscape in Tea Party Zombies Must Die is bleak, littered with Fox News logos and decaying Tea Party propaganda. In between levels are tidbits about Tea Party politics, such as information on the Koch Brothers:
Not surprisingly, Fox News has not received the game with much enthusiasm. Mike Huckabee, who has a zombie counterpart in the game, does not seem amused:
"I'm personally flattered to be included in this young game-maker's efforts to be funny, and I even support his First Amendment rights to produce things that are in poor taste or unseemly to rational people," Huckabee said during his radio show, The Huckabee Report.
The developer Huckabee referred to is StarvingEyes' 32-year-old Jason Oda who also developed 2008's Kung-Fu Election. That online game featured Democratic election candidates like Barack Obama and Bill Clinton going up against Republican candidates like Mitt Romney and John McCain in Street Fighter style.
Huckabee noted that StarvingEyes has a number of corporate sponsors and wondered if they would begin distancing themselves from the game company.
"Will Pepsi, Motorola and NASCAR among others cease to advertise on the website that promotes this violent and hate-filled bigotry or will there be the usual double standard?" Huckabee asked.
Oda doesn't seem concerned.
"I am not worried about it affecting business," Oda told Media Research Center for TV.
