In this showdown, everyone’s a winner. Life’s Kitchen chefs are waging a battle to the boozy death on Friday, Aug. 26, to determine which pairs better with grub: beer or wine.
And here’s the best part—you get to be the judge. For $40 per person, you’ll receive six courses, each paired with a different wine and beer. Chef Maggie Kiefer will be matching the vinos and Chef Ryan Hembree will be picking the suds. Though you can peep the menu below, both Hembree and Kiefer are keeping their hooch choices close to their chefs’ coats.

Amuse-bouche: Salmon gravlox
Appetizer: Assortment of international-flavor meatballs: Basque pork, Moroccan lamb and brisket chimichurri
Soup: Scallop ceviche gazpacho
Pasta: Ferranti pasta in brown butter with swiss chard, heirloom tomatoes and ricotta salat cheese garnished with a fried quail egg and julienned arugula
Main Course: Local lamb chop lollipops with a roasted plum compote and root vegetable hash
Dessert: Grilled peaches with toasted coconut ice cream and macadamia nuts
